FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FEBRUARY 28, 2022
On February 25, 2022, the CDC released a statement that masks are no longer
required on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems. This
includes early care and education/child care programs. The CDC is making this change to align with updated mask guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings. School systems at their discretion may choose to require the wearing of masks on buses or vans.

The MCHD has just issued a press release indicating that as of Monday (February 21) they are changing their masking recommendations for schools to be “masks recommended”. Bremen Public Schools will follow this recommendation beginning next Tuesday as Monday is a staff development day. Please know that should cases increase dramatically and student absences become excessive, this recommendation can and most-likely will change.
The MCHD is also granting Marshall County schools flexibility in contact tracing requirements. The have asked us to continue to contact tracing and informing parents of exposed students, but we will not need to quarantine contact traced students unless they begin to show symptoms.
Due to Federal requirements, students will still be required to wear masks on our school busses.
