Recently, we have several staff and students who are being required to quarantine due to contact tracing. Cases of COVID are increasing in our area and there is community spread of the virus. However, please know that we will continue to stay open as much as possible. That is not to say that we will not be eventually forced to our virtual platform, but our intent is to continue as best we can. Should we become short-staffed and are unable to cover classrooms, we may consider moving BHS to virtual and focus our substitute efforts on BEMS. Our thought is that high school students are generally able to stay home unsupervised and are also better suited to continue their studies remotely. Please do your part to help us continue to serve our students in person. Hygiene, social distancing, mask wearing are simple things that can make a big difference. Student Council's annual food food drive will be on Monday, November 16th from 6:30-8:30 pm. This year, please have your bag of non-perishable food items placed outside your door for pick-up. The food will be given to the Grace Food Pantry of Bremen.

Bremen Lions Football will host the Pioneer Panthers here at home on Friday, Nov 6 for the Sectional Championship. Kick-off @ 7:00 p.m. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE GAME – PRESALE ONLY. The Bremen Athletic Office will sell tickets until sold out or until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov 6 whichever is FIRST. Words cannot express my appreciation of our community for its strong support of our referendum vote. Your generosity, and commitment to the health of our students (both mental and physical) are a beacon of hope during an otherwise dark year. Students living in a household with someone being COVID tested, should NOT come to school AND quarantine at home until COVID results are obtained. Upon returning to school after quarantine and/or testing, you must provide the school nurse with the COVID lab results.

There will be a fan bus for BHS students wanting to attend the football sectional game on Friday at Wabash. The bus will depart at 5:45 p.m. in front of the high school on Grant Street. Seating is limited, and students must sign up in the Athletic Office in order to ride. Tickets for the game are $6.00 and the bus ride is FREE! COVID-19 Update The following is a summary attempt to keep our school community fully informed since our last update: Two high school instructors are quarantining due to contact tracing. One middle school student tested positive resulting in two middle school teachers and 13 students quarantining as close contacts. Lastly, a community member affiliated with the Distinguished Young Women contest tested positive. We are currently investigating for potential close contacts. As usual, we are in communication with MCHD and taking their advice regarding any changes to our processes or if school would potentially need to be close (currently there no plans to do so). Locations have been appointed based on the number of participants, and times have been staggered.
